1807年馬禮遜抵華，以後就陸續有更正教師前來。那些差會派員呢？茲按抵華時間之先後，錄出宣道會之名，迄至1865年（就是馬雅各醫生在台灣拓教之年）。表記M.S.

1807年，倫敦宣道會（London
M.S.）；1827年，荷闌宣道會（Netherlands
M.S.）；1830年，亞比絲喜美總會，又稱美部會（American
Board of Commissioners for Forejgn Mssion
—是以公理會為主所組成者）；美國浸禮會（American
Baptist Board of Foreign Missions，後又稱American
Baptist Missionary Union）；1835年，美國聖公會（Board
of Forejgn Missions of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the U.S.）；1837年，英國教會（Church
of England M.S.）；1838年，美北長老會（Board
of Foreign Missions of the Pres byterian Church in the U.S.
）；以上是「南京條約」以前，中國禁止傳教。
