Dr. Paul S. Alexander ( 歐保羅, 1928-2014) Obituary

Dr. Paul S. Alexander age 86 of Greenwood, IN passed to glory 6/17/2014. He was born January 3, 1928 in Indianapolis,IN to Carl Raymond Alexander and Mabel Pennycuff Alexander. He is survivied by his wife Lucy, Children Anne, Dorothy (Greg) Wade, Gordon, and Emily (Andy) Eatough.His grandchildren are Stephanie, Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Daniel Wade as well as Vera and Lydia Eatough. He was predeceased by his sons Stephen and Philip. He was the second of 6 children. His surviving siblings are Mildred Wyant, Raymond Alexander, Frances Selby, Dorothy Kendall, and Carolyn McWhirter. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

He spent his life work as a Missionary in Taiwan teaching at the first Christian University on the island. He and his wife were also involved in Marriage Enrichment and opened the first Family Wellness Center at Tunghai University in Taiwan. He served in many capacities both at the University and in the Church Overseas as well as in the States. He was loved by and mentored many students throughout his life.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m., July 6, 2014 at Southport Presbyterian Church, with visitation from 2 p.m.

受美南長老教會差派來台灣、在台中東海大學任教長達38年的歐保羅教授（Paul Stephen Alexander），6月17日中午12點15分於印地安那家鄉蒙主恩召，享年86歲；台灣訂於7月6日在路思義教堂舉行告別禮拜。

歐保羅於1958年從印地安那大學取得生物學博士後，即由美南長老教會差派來台，在東海大學生物系任教38年，開創了台灣在澤蛙、候鳥與流行病等的研究。他曾擔任東海生物系系主任與理學院院長，一生熱心愛主服事人，曾任東海教會執事會主席多年，也是東海大學幸福家庭研究推廣中心創辦者，及台灣各地家庭教育服務中心的催生者。 ...
